This is my favorite mouse of the three. It was a little lighter because of all the white reflecting from below, and there were a lot of subtle shifts in value. It's very exciting to me to successfully suggest a 3-D object with a hairy brush and tubes of squishy color. It's the thing that keeps me inspired day after day! I'm a lucky girl. : )
sooooo cute! Just love them all, but this one is extra special. Thanks Carol! I also marvel at the process and results of painting!
ReplyDeleteCarol--you nailed it. The gold fairly sizzles on this little mouse and the name fits the expressive pose perfectly. Repetition yields incredible results.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree that this is the best one. I think mostly since it shows the figure so clearly. I also like the straight on angle more than the down shots.
ReplyDeleteCarol, you really got the gold on this one.
ReplyDeleteCarol, this ones the best of the 3 and what progress over the 3 paintings... your work is really inspirational...
ReplyDeleteWow! You did it!
ReplyDeleteI love all 3 of these precious little guys but especially this one. That light turquoise background looks so great against the gold. You really caught on quickly to depicting that metallic quality!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought you had accomplished the "best gold" last time... Congratulations! You have so much to feel lucky for :)
ReplyDeleteYou really did it this time, Carole. The pose and the gold colors are perfect. Hope Barton

the progress is exciting to see. You nailed it, for sure, this time!
ReplyDeleteI do love how you captured his very distinct personality in each painting! He really has one!
This is a great little piece. It just has the gretest personality. Wel done.
ReplyDeleteRead your blog on the studio building. I did my own [for the second time many years back and now wish it was even bigger. Youll love it.
