I did this one yesterday but completely forgot to photograph it - duh. Then I did a larger one that is similar but ... has more stuff in it. : ) I really like it. It was a good day. Today I took a little break and ran some errands.
This evening I found out that the Jury's top 50 has been awarded for the Salon International show, and one of my paintings is included! There were so many incredible paintings there - I can't even begin to express how honored I am to be included in the show, much less receive this additional honor!!! Here's the painting:

Congratulations! Can you share a picture of the painting that was included?
ReplyDeleteReally like the "good morning" -- one of your ceramic pieces?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
Wow. That is really good. Wish I could paint like that. I quilt but not with half the talent you paint.

You deserve the honor! I still like your less complicated studies better.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I think this is my all time favorite. I don't know why it just speaks to me. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Your skill and unique style stand out among your peers. That gives your work a WOW! appeal.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I love both pieces, but this is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Carol! I'll say it again. I really like this one.
ReplyDeleteThe new one you added is pretty fine too.
Congratulations Carol! Beautiful painting!

Carol- your work stands alone and the honor is so well deserved. I love your color palettes in this piece and the new Good Morning work.
ReplyDeleteIt's so interesting how you create round shapes with such linear strokes.
I've bookmarked you and eagerly look at your site every day, even if there's no new post, it's like going to a favorite museum where I get to peruse the things that are permanent and still so inspiring.
Congratulations!
PS- I've mentioned you on my blog today too....I'm a great admirer.
What can I say but "of course!!" You're one of my very favorite painters and it's great to see you get more recognition. You deserve it. "Cheese and Grapes" is one of my favorite large works. "Good Morning" has such a strong value composition. Look how it demands attention on the Dailey Painters Gallery page. I love the highlights too.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you paint carnations. I love your polka dots. I love these colors. I love your reflections.
ReplyDeleteI checked out the paintings at the Salon Show and agree with the judges. You are a winner for sure, in more ways than one.
Congratulations, Carol! And I love your Good Morning, also.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Carol! I love the colors in the Salon painting. You 'nailed' it with your subject, too! Wow, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Well deserved. Lots of great paintings at the show but your work really stands out.
ReplyDeleteOh Carol!
ReplyDeleteThat is marvelous! You deserve the recognition. Congratulations.
See, good things happen to those who get their taxes done...and work their "you know what's" off.

Congratulations! Hope you win a big prize and have a huge ad in the magazines!!
ReplyDeletelove this vase and it's reflection!! congrats on your top 50 at the salon international, i saw that painting on your website prior and was struck by it, good job!!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, That's wonderful news, I love the painting. A question for you, do you always paint your background in last? Thanks, Barb
ReplyDeleteThank you all so so so much for the support!!! I REALLY appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteBarb, to answer your question, no I don't always paint in the background last. But often I do. Mostly so I can get some interesting edges around my focus. Many times I'll put in little bits of the background just to check against the value and color.

ReplyDeleteThese are both beautiful but the bottom one is just breathtaking. I mistook it for one of your 12x 12's.
ReplyDeleteYou are unique in the way you paint. I love your work.
Congratulations, Carol! Your paintings really had a unique presence at the show. You deserve this recognition and much more.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the award Carol, you deserve it. I love Swiss Cheese and Grapes and I'm glad the judges did too.
