Question: do you ever paint something, and at first think it looks terrible? And then days later you look again and think maybe it's pretty good? If so, why the heck?
I'm trying to remember if it's ever happened the other way around for me.

are you asking, "This looks terrible" and then assess the painting is not so terrible as you saw it earlier?
