This one took forever! But I'm happy with the result. I'm pretty sure I was in Times Square when I took the reference photo. I LOVED that area for the photo ops. I have a ton of photos from it, and plan to paint more, eventually. They are just so dang complex.

You are such a master of composition! I love that green coat and the pink sweater! You abstracted the background and muted those colors! What a great painting!
please show a step by step on people. At 6x6, I just cant imagine how you get this much detail!
I have followed your work for several years. Your journey is always inspiring and I thank you for sharing so freely. I was just reading a few entries back about how you have been terrified to paint people, which ground your painting to a halt. But look at you! Your figurative work is just as inspiring and the fact that even you get scared, after all of your success, is somehow reassuring, as I find myself having to often look at the sign in my studio that reads "fear has no place here" (which I heard you say, I think on a past AHA episode) to calm my mind and push me forward. Thank you, thank you, and keep painting people! They are wonderful!
I wonder what caught the attention of the two guys in the background on the right? I love this full of life street scene!
I really enjoyed looking through your paintings of NYC and SF. Comparatively, I can even see the differences in the feelings of the cities by the way you captured the light. Very nice!
