John Day River

I apologize for being so slow posting paintings from my (Eastern Oregon) trip. We've had house guests the past couple of weeks, and I've barely opened my computer (or painted) the whole time.

This one is possibly my favorite from the trip. We were camping at Clyde Holliday State Park, and this was a little scene I found along the John Day River near our campground. While I painted this, my son sat near me drawing and reading, and my husband went for a bike ride. I had a little time left after I finished this one so I asked Jacob (son) if he'd mind waiting a little longer. He said "I'd be delighted!" What a great kid I have.

Yes, Carol, I agree, great kid indeed!
I can understand why you like this painting. I especially love the part of the cool sky reflecting on the sunny part of the water. Hard to do.

The reflections on the water captured my interest immediately. Your work and level of activity is amazing.
