Marmalade

sold

I can rarely get cats to sit still for me. This one only did because she was being loved on the other end by her owner/mother, and my friend, Pam. And because this was near the end of our photography session (I was mainly photographing Pam that day) and she was getting used to me. Thanks to you both, for providing me with such a lovely scene (one of many, actually).

My book got reviewed by Charley Parker on Lines and Colors today! It's an AWESOME review, one I'm not sure I deserve. But I'll take it. Thank you, Charley!

Congratulations, Carol, great review! (I've ordered a copy of your book - my Christmas present) Love this portrait of the cat, too.

A sweet kitty, love the heart tag too. Are you really taking next year off? I noticed someone commented about that, did I miss something?

Thanks you guys!

Barbara, I'm not taking next year off from painting, only from teaching workshops. : ) I am looking forward to spending more time focusing on my work, family, and creating a few new ArtBytes (online tutorials).

I wish I could think of some new adjectives to describe your work!
Anyway, look at the level gaze on Marmalade. He's saying, 'ok, I'll stay but don't mess with me".
Outstanding, as usual!

Sounds great Carol, looking forward to new ArtBytes. Sometimes we just need to slow down don't we?

A great cat painting!! Wonderful brushwork. I did the "8 apples" exercise in your book this week and was amazed how much improved the last apple was. I also learned that I was more efficient and effective when I slowed down and made more deliberate brushstrokes. Thanks for all your hard work on the book. A well deserved outstanding review on Lines and Colors.

Hi Carol,
I'm impressed with both you and Marmalade for completing the sitting - luscious brushwork. I've only been able to paint sleeping dogs from life.
; )
Your book review was well-deserved and I anticipate many more to come! I treated myself to an early Christmas present a few weeks ago, love your book.
You are generous with your knowledge and experience - we are grateful!
