After I posted yesterday about using cool LED to light your flowers, I got several other suggestions. In case you don't check the comments, I thought I'd share them here. Lyn says if you put an ice cube in the vase the tulips won't open as fast. Jean says a if you have hot lights, simply put a penny in the water and the tulips will keep their shape (under cool lights the stems get rigid). And I can't find this last comment again, but someone said put them in the fridge for a few hours before you paint them and that helps too. Lots of things to try!

Everyone always writes in about loving your paintings, but seriously you have the VERY BEST TITLES all the time! I can't wait to see what you have come up with for a title every time I see a post. No wonder you get burnt out (I heard your podcast recently) with all this on your mind, not only painting stress but titling stress and probably some ordinary every day stress to boot!
i have always like light blue with a bold red!
GREAT LOOKING ART!
Imagine if you put a penny and ice cubes!! That would really be great for a larger piece...maybe.

I grabbed one of dozens of tulip arrangements from a recent party. Do you know their stems kept growing for the next few days!? Never noticed that before. They were in florist's foam and water. 'White ones which never opened fully.
I thought I left a comment on this - because I love..LOVE.. this composition. It's a beautiful piece.
