Lazy Lemons

To continue about books, from my last post, I want to mention one downside to Magcloud vs. Blurb. Blurb has a rather easy program for putting together a book (BookSmart), and Magcloud, simply doesn't. One must use another program and create a pdf. Magcloud suggests a number of programs for this. I started out with Word, but only ran into problems. I ended up using a trial of Lightroom 4 which was perfect -- maybe even easier than BookSmart (because of an autofill option). Unfortunately my trial runs out in 30 days, so if it works and I want to use it again next time, I have to buy it (~$200). Just more information for those of you considering publishing a book. : )

Hi Carol, I love this purple with the yellow and the gray. Lovely. Also appreciate the share on the book info, not that I have any immediate plans, but I always trust your judgement and research. Thanks.
I use Serif pagePlus

Very easy to use lots of features and costs $100 US

Hi Carol! Is your lovely step-daughter a student? Perhaps "she" could buy the copy of Lightroom for less $$$. I have good luck with Amazon in this regard. Happy Thanksgiving! Mitzi
Another possibility might be the open source (free) program Scribus. It can do layouts and create a pdf.
Hi Carol, In case you decide to buy Lightroom, Amazon has it on sale for $109 right now--I just bought a copy. I'd been using the 30 day trial which was nearing expiration. I really like the program for managing and editing photos.

Clear, abstract shapes-just the way I want to paint! Great use of reflected light too. I am glad I discovered your site.
Hi Carol,
Lovely as always. I launched my new Blog site I hope you will drop in every once in awhile. Thanks for the boot in the butt, in starting my new adventure, and for continuing to share all your valuable information. As mentioned before, so generous and gracious!
This painting is awesome! Love the complexity of the fabric. It's just amazing!
Carol, I have a lot of experience preparing files for print, including PDFs. If you do this again, let me know, maybe we can work out a trade :)
