Whites

sold

I was looking back at my earliest daily paintings recently and noticed that I used to have much simpler compositions - often just one or two objects. Well, here are three, and all white. I think often the simpler compositions are harder to paint!

again, the edges and shifts in these whites are sublime. I also have a bit of a hard time creating space like you have here, with out indicating the planes. Nice!
BTW, your early paintings are still awesome.

Carol, this is just amazing. White on white with refections. You are the master. :-)

Hello Carol,
Again I am so grateful for your tutorials and sharing. I am even inspired to do a painting a day. I received the easel for my birthday, built the light box, the brushes and boards are on their way from the States! All that is left is the fabric and lighting. So there are NO excuses. Study time! I write now, because I was thinking of starting with an all white composition. I have done one earlier of my bathroom:(www.juliemai.ca) I am so excited I can hardly contain my self, and hope to see big progress in my work over the next 6 months. I was even thinking of a blog.....Thanks again, happy painting! Julie Mai

While it disappoints my granddaughter whenever she asks, white is still my favorite color :-) These whites are amazing. iridescent!
