Prune Plums

sold

My friend Phemie gave me these beautiful prune plums! I think she intended me to eat them, but I painted them instead, and then ate them. I painted them using a different light than I normally use. Normally I use a very strong flood bulb, but for this I used a much softer florescent daylight bulb ... you know, the spirally kind.

Carol, this is one of your most sophisticated paintings I've seen! (Color wise) Your color is just absolutely stunning. I love it.

Carol, I love the softer light, especially with the purple plums,...very "classy"

Beautiful soft painting. Those plums make great crepes filling, just cook them a little....yum.

Oh this is gorgeous! One of your strengths is utilizing strong color, and I love seeing you do that every day; but it is also nice to see a little break from that into these soft shadowy neutrals. Lovely!

The colors are exquisite!

As everyone else has said, the softness of your values here gives such a lovely delicacy. That seems to make the lovely blue of the prunes more evident. And your greys, as always, are exquisite!

Absolutely FABULOUS - do a larger version of it and it will be a
show-stopper.
