Square Dancing Peaches

I've returned to still life for a while in order to bone up for my upcoming workshop in Toronto. It would be awful to be halfway through my first demo and realize I've forgotten how to paint an apple! Or a peach.

I love the purple, green, orange color combo, and the abstracted highlights, and- well there is so much to love in such a small painting! How do you fit it all in?
Genius I guess!

Although I've been a follower of your blog for many years, I hardly ever comment on anything (I just sit and admire). But I'm SO excited to be going to your workshop in Toronto next week!! I'm looking forward to learning from you, and to meet you in person!

Ha! Don't think you'll ever forget! Amazing how you depicted fuzziness by using just the right colors even with your defined brush strokes!

I see you're on the waiting list for the Traveling Chicken!! She is visiting me right now and I just posted about her. Look out! She can be a handful!

Wonderful painting, and I love your title on this one...the square dance music instantly popped into my head and I can almost smell the peaches!

You captured the "peach fuzz" effectively, they have a nice matte finish :)

Nice echo of round shapes from your fabric to the peaches to their stem tops. Like it!

Carol, this one is just peachy! I love the fuzz, and that little o in the middle shadow. Such fun!

Your demos are the best, not a chance you'll forget anything. I wish I was going to be there.
