Mirror, Mirror

I am here in Toronto, halfway through a fabulous workshop being held right in the middle of all the big city hub-bub. All my previous Canadian experiences couldn't have prepared me for this! I have already been dressed up and bustled off to a gypsy masquerade party (complete with real Gypsy juice - don't ask), whisked through the Art Gallery of Ontario to see the Group of 7, served bananas wrapped in leaves and topped with bean ice cream for dessert, and made to put up with 18 giggling smartists (I call them this because they are taking full advantage of my gullibility)!! I'll give my full report after. Meanwhile, here are a few more apples I painted before I left home.

Whoa, love this one! And smartist, that is a new word but, having been in the room, I would have to agree it is apropos :)

Carol, the bowl is perfect, I can feel how cold the metal is-and also love your polka dot fabric-which I'm sure you painted, as well! Watch out for those Canadians! They're a tricky bunch! Xo Pia

Carol,
I follow your posts everyday but when today's arrived early I screamed. Know why? Because we were thinking of the exact same thing at almost the same time. Check out my blog title from a couple hours back:

Amazing that this one just looks huge to me...guess the depth of the bowl and the reflections are tricking my eye. Masterfully done. And I am so glad you are having a well deserved blast with the "smartists"...good for everyone concerned! Take care and travel safe, XO!!

This painting is amazing, and as previously stated, it looks like it would be bigger than 6x6. I love it and I want it!!

So, you're in Canada eh? I'm down here in Montreal wishing I was in your class. Maybe next year! This is a powerful and gorgeous painting! Hard to believe that you can get this kind of luscious stroke on such a small scale! You are a true virtuoso!
