Just Steps From Home

WORKSHOP: One spot just opened up in my upcoming Sedona, AZ class, May 14-18. If you're interested ...

My husband and I found a lovely little book the other day full of interesting walks around Eugene. We decided it would be a great opportunity to walk, talk and take pictures, so we went on our first one Monday. It was on that walk I found the inspiration for this latest front porch painting.

Good morning!

No painter but I really like your pictures ... Color palette, light, heat and especially intimacy, pleasure to discover "our stuff", the life around us ...

Another wonderful painting. I have a friend who just moved to Eugene, and was wondering if you'd share the name of the book. It might make a nice gift.

Thanks,
:-D eirdre

Love this sunny scene. No better way to get to know your area than walking. Have fun and hopefully no rain.

Thank you, everyone!! I am thoroughly enjoying this series. I feel like a kid again, pursuing something new. : )

Deirdre, the name of the book is "Eugene Oregon Walks" by Tyler Burgess and I found it at Market of Choice. I hope your friend will enjoy it as much as we are!

Wonderful painting Carol! I've been walking around a neighborhood in West Hartford, CT, I shoot a few photos trying to capture the morning light on the front door but haven't painting any of them yet. However, your series has inspires me to stop wishing and start doing! Thanks a bunch!
