"Cherry Cocktail"

Since someone asked, I am in central Canada, Alberta province, near Red Deer. The weather is still absolutely glorious! And the kids are good so far. These Canadians are extra nice. I'll have pictures soon.

It is like the cherry is at the beach - umbrella and all!

Carol, I cannot thank you enough for all the ways you put yourself out there and for the generosity of your spirit. I came across your blog at a time in my life when I needed a push. A push to life bigger and to put my dreams into action. You helped me open the door to the next chapter in my life and you did it one day at a time, one painting at a time, one blog at a time, one shared frustration/joy at a time. I will be forever grateful. Really, you'll never know. xo

Cherry Cocktail is really nice. You keep coming up with really cool ideas and great compositions.
I am painting every day and I don't think I'll ever stop!

I always love cherries and this guy beside that green glass is wonderful. Then I peek up at the underside of the little umbrella- too good:) Love the underside with the deeper values and the little angled arms...is that what they are called? Love the shadow. Stay warm- I know everyone is loving every minute of the workshop!

I love the balance of the green in the glass and the red brolly topnote, what ground colour did you start off with for this one Carol?

Thanks ya'll!

Douglas, please email me@carolmarine.com.

Steve, I used a burnt umber ground - pretty thin if I remember right.
