I snapped this photo in Maine last year. For most of my time there it was gray and drizzly, but we got one morning of sunshine and I took advantage of it.
My friend Tricia took photos at the party last night and has kindly shared them with me. I just posted them here on my Studio blog.

Lovely sense of light through warm and cool colors.
I love all your still lifes but I appreciate your other works like these as well, variety is the spice of life.

I was looking at your studio blog and I saw a barn in the 3rd picture from the top. I think it would be cool if you painted it. =o)

I really like this one Carol! I know what you mean about grabbing the day when it comes. April was stunning here in the UK, we painted pretty much every day. May , on the other hand as been windy and cloudy! Seize the moment! I loved your husband's small painting shelves that he made for you!
This is a beautiful composition, Carol. And I love the play of sunlight and shadows.
This is great, you really captured the lighting here on your one sunny day!
Love the sunfilled feeling this one has. You totally got that and love the way the slats and seats in the dinghies are so 3 D...just really fabulous! Like the cropped composition and that they touch. Sweet!
From the thumbnail on my blogger update I thought you posted a photo! Amazing job.
Ha! A year later and I still remember those boats at Owl's Head when the sun peeked through...and now the painting...nice memory...nice painting...the beauty of art...Bruce
