I was going around and around with the apples slices standing up. I probably spent 30 minutes trying to figure out a way for them to work in this composition. Finally, I got frustrated and knocked them over. And then it worked! Sometimes the solution is very simple.

Gosh your work just amazes me. Every single time that I look at it. And I like simple, I'm a simple kind of girl.
I love the blues with the yellow in this one. I thought I was the only one with set problems. I also love your reflective surface.
Great- lots of cool greys and the pop of warm greens/yellow in the apples. And they have reflections, too!
Since you mentioned light reflections in your previous post I can't stop looking at them and they look great on this one! You're very good at it! Looking forward to see more of your work on a reflective surface!
Strong reflections , Carol! I like it lots!
Ahhh, Carol...the undersides of your bowl and plate make me...sigh.

This piece is great. Isn't it nice when compositions just happen now and then? Love the light in the middle of the painting. Terrific!
Great painting, as all from you, but I'd like to know how long you needed to paint.
carol, I really love the colors in this one! One quick question - is this some kind of glass topped surface (like a piece of glass on top of a colored cloth)? I only ask because the reflections on the ground plane are more saturated than the reflected light on the bowl. I'm just a bit curious what causes an effect like that. Great job, as always!
I love the variation of blues on the surface and the differences of color on the two apples. You have such patience with the setups - I don't want to think about what I would have done with uncooperative apple slices.
Très jolie composition, j'aime ce fond bleu que vous avez fait
Simple, but not easy.
Beautiful as always! love those wonderful reflections.
Thanks so much to everyone for the comments!!
Shelby, yes, I have a large peice of glass that goes right into my shadow box. I put it on top of a peice of colored cloth.
They do look asleep on the job. As always nice light and reflections. Love blue!
Love those shiny reflections!!!
