"Apple Sake" - SOLD

I'm pretty proud of the reflection of the apple in the cup here. What's funny, is if I hadn't pointed it out, you probably wouldn't have noticed it, right? And it's what I always tell my students. The subtle things, like reflections and reflected light - if you get them right, no one's going to tell you how great they are. But if you get them wrong, everyone will notice!

Carol, I am proud of that reflection in the cup also and see it as a focal point! Wonderfully done. I love the core shadow in the apple. Gorgeous colors- your whites are outstanding.

For sure that's true! It's the little things, the shapes of the reflections, shadows that tell the truth. That's what makes a painting believable even if your sky is purple and your sea red!
