I have a fabulous quote from fellow artist and teacher,
Julie Douglas (from Ireland) - it goes like this:
"I tell my students they aren't asking the right question if they say How...? The right question is - What happens if I do THIS...? And there are thousands of unique answers." I love it.

That IS a good question. I like it a lot. :)
And look at those awesome orange reflections on that mug! SO cool.
This is SO where I was tonight while painting.
I tried to just let it happen while asking that questions."What's gonna happen if I mix...this?"
I was pleasantly surprised with some of my mixtures and was delighted to push some gray into my usual intense color.
Too late for a photo tonight but I feel like I relaxed and let some stuff happen.
You are the Queen of subtlety with a dashing slab of color.
The answer I got to that question from Robert E. Wood was . . . "Try it and see"
Great quote. It is perfect for a student I have at the moment who just wants to see how I do it.... I keep suggesting she work on how SHE does it.... I think this is better. Thank you!
Again, a fine painting! Seeing your daily efforts and ideas always brings me joy!
The oranges really pop! Like this.
Really love the colors here. I also really like the quote. I may have to borrow it.
I'm in love with that quote! I'm a teacher and an artist, too. I can sense a blog post about that quote.
Thank you for sharing.
Love your work. The video was wonderful. Thank your husband for all that work. Seeing your palette and your painting was doubly wonderful!
