I've always had trouble with onions, so last time I was in the grocery store I thought - here's the challenge I've been looking for. So I bought some and now I'm going to paint them until I AM an onion.
Challenging yourself is always such a good learning thing! I just recently painted some snow scenes--Had never painted snow before and loved how it forced me to move into high key contrasts--darks looking very dark against the high keyed lights.
Yes, become the object - there's a great drawing lesson out there on just this - what does the onion 'see' is something one is meant to ask oneself while becoming the object.
I like this onion painting though and can't imagine how it can get better, but I'm betting you have something up your sleeve!

Hah! I chuckled out loud about you "being" an onion. I do love the warm yellow of these guys.

Hi Carol,
How can it be that you would have trouble with anything? I bet thousands of your fans agree.
Awesomely done!! Can't wait to see more onions!

Bright light! Expressive!
It's a nice painting, but without being informed by the title that they are supposed to be onions, I wouldn't have known.
