"Simple Breakfast" - SOLD

I personally have a love/hate relationship with Facebook, but yesterday I got a nice surprise when I opened my computer and found dozens of birthday greetings via Facebook. Thank you all so much for that!! It was a nice surprise. I'm actually not as old as I thought - all year I thought I was 32, but my husband said "check the math, Carol," and indeed I only just turned 32. duh. So, it's like I gained a year, or just didn't age this year ... or something. My stepdaughter Maddie (15) made a little figurine for me of my son (Jacob, 5) the artist. I am blown away by her talent!! Check it out:

I had a fabulous birthday and was generally spoiled rotten!

Lovely painting, as always. I like the shadows, reflections and pinkish flower. :) Wow, Jacob is 5. Guess you are also older. Happy belated birthday. Your NY trip looks excellent. Thanks for the posts.

You can always ask me how old you are - because I remember you are ONE year older than my oldest son! I hope you had a wonderful day, and I, too, am blown away by your Maddie's talent. Does she have her own blog?
Best wishes for many happy returns of the day, Carol!

carol - believe it or not - that same phenomenon happens to me - and to my hubby - i'm always amazed when my birthday comes around to find out how old i am..i applied for medicare last month and i still think i'm 32! - i'm too busy to paint every day anymore but i'm having so much fun doing whetever i'm doing...plus my hubby, after 23 years in his 87, just got a new 2011 mustang convertible so we'll be taking road trips!! (check my blog to see this fabulous beast..the car..not the hubby..!) as always, you continue to be an inspiration..especially loved your cows..so keep up the good work and happy birthday!

Happy belated birthday! Your comment about forgetting how old you are cracks me up. I've been doing the same thing for the last couple of years. It always surprises me when I'm actually a year younger than I thought on my birthday. BTW, that figurine is so, so cute!
