"Cracked Windshield" - SOLD

Camping was wonderful! We just bought a camper and it made everything so ... comfortable. Which made for good sleeping and a lovely respite from the heat (this from a life-long tent camper filled with guilt). I did squeeze in a little painting too, which I will post about later. For now, here is a car I photographed in Colorado. I was especially intrigued by the huge cracks in the windshield. It kind of looks like an old wrecked shark in a sea of grass to me.

Speaking of a sea of grass, I love the grass. This has been a great series.

Ahhh if those 4 wheels could talk what a tale they would tell........

Sort of hard to tell, but I think the car might be a Studebaker. Really nice!

Carol...I am enjoying this series of ghosts in the grass. I see you stretching yourself in these subjects. Good use of darks to punch the subject and good use of greens in the foreground on this one.

Carol, I've been enjoying your paintings regularly now.

I had to laugh at your "life-long tent camper filled with guilt" comment- that is exactly how I feel whenever I even THINK about how nice it would be to own a camper! Hilarious. :)

Keep on with your beautiful paintings!

Every time I comment, I feel like I'm saying the same thing! Your talent amazes. I love seeing your plein air work. It's every bit as strong as your still lives. The 'bling' that you talked about from Jennifer's workshop is really working. These little gems really sparkle and keep your eye moving in just the right ways. Fascinating - love the windshield cracks!

Love this series of junker cars and old equipment - they are beautifully painted! I especially like the suggestions of other objects in the backgrounds, they read as something but don't overpower the main subjects.

It is much better to sleep in a camper than a bag. Do not feel guilty. Without good sleep, you cannot enjoy life.

Honey, never feel guilty about comfort ;) especially air conditioning. I don't know how people in the sizzling South can even live in that kind of heat.

I'm loving these car/truck paintings. You, as usual, inspire me and I went into my file of car photos and started doing some. The one most recently posted was parked on the side of the road as I drove through town last week and I pulled a u-ey and took some pictures.
Carol, your work is unique and beautiful.
