The day before we left Telluride we all pulled out our paintings and laid them out on the picnic table. It was the first time we'd seen them since we'd painted them, which was a fun way to go about it. This way we never felt really bad about any one painting. We could forgive the first few as rusty, and see our progress more easily. Here are Penny and James:
The next day we moved on to Silverton, which is where the trucks above are from. This is my personal favorite from the trip. I think it looks better in person.

super! I love the expression made by the grate and headlights on the face of the vehicle!
Wow! Great job on catching the light on this old truck. I love it!!
I can see why this one's your favourite, Carol. The brushstrokes are beautiful and I love the way you've handled the colours and values. Superb work.
Superb, Carol. You really caught the "expressions" here, and I love the minimal approach and muted colors. Really outstanding.
I always enjoy your work but, these new paintings are in another league...simply stunning.
This and Afternoon Sparkle are my faves so far.
It's fun to see your landscapes and this sounds like a great trip.
