"Draped Setting" - SOLD

There's something about the way white fabric folds that is magical. It is one thing I don't find easy to paint, at all. I usually end up making all the shadow parts too dark and have to go back and adjust ... and readjust, etc.

Isn't that painting in general. Adjusting and readjusting...or is that just me. Anyway great job on these folds. Great blueness reflecting in there.

I love white fabric folds too...I just love this piece too. The folds, the polka dot cloth, the bright red apple...wow...it is always an uuuuuing and ahhhing when I open your post. Such an inspiration to start my day here in SNOWY Germany.

Beautiful work on the drapery, Carol, and WAY TO GO with those polka dots! I loooove the fabric, how it goes from the shadow to the light. Just right.

Excellent job of using warm and cool colors. I can relate to how you feel about folds in fabric. The flow and twists just draw me in.
GREAT JOB!!!

I remember your class in which you said that the brightest whites are highlights on WHITE objects.
Here I see how RED the highlight is on the apple.
Like the dots, too.

I love it. The folds and shadows there are fantastic, and I especially love the dots on the fabric and how you've given it so much depth because of them!
