"Apple Club" - SOLD

In general if I'm painting a scene with a lot of white in it I tone it first with burnt umber because it's a fairly neutral color and it doesn't tint the white much. When I remember. This time I forgot and toned it red. It's ok, but the red really shows around the edges. So ... I am selling this one with a frame that hides the edges. To include the cost of the frame I am starting bidding at $130. You can see the frame below. It's a nice frame from http://www.kingofframe.com/. You can also see it here on my frames page - La Paz Dark with Silver.

Gee, I like that pink glow on the edges. This one and yesterday's paintings feel particularly cheerful.

It's nice of you to include a frame (and it is a nice frame, thanks for the link!) but the red adds to the dynamism of the painting. The red cast is lovely and logical as reflected light from the apples. No flaws that I can see! It's beautiful!

What's wrong with red? Love it!

I love the edges. It all works to lead the eye and it harmonizes with the green. It's beautiful.

If you don't like the red edges why not finish painting over the red?? Why frame it before you like it? (I love it.)
