"Above All Else" - SOLD

I've been feeling in a bit of a rut lately with my still lifes. I find myself setting up the same basic compositions over and over. So today I decided to get out and do some plein air. I went down the river to find only deciduous trees, all bare. I set up anyway and did a horrible little painting. So I wiped it off, came home and set up something a bit different in my studio. It reminds me of family.

Rut? NOT!
I love these colors that you're leaning toward. Totally fresh and new.
It does look just like Mom, Dad, the kids and the cat/dog :D

I would like to see a wipe-out and read your negative critique of it. Yes a playskool fruity family...

Hi Carol,& DSM
I thought that also.
Have any other artists thought of blogging their reject drawings & paintings? Reasoning is that those are the ones we've tried something new on!

Wonderfully complex composition. And yes, I see the family as well with Pa and Pa Pear leaning affectionately toward each other. Great reflections bouncing everywhere!

This one made me chuckle, "they're all on display". Absolutely love it. Your art is wonderful.
