"Intertwined" - SOLD

Today was a really crummy day - a 4-hour start on a large painting only to wipe it because it was going nowhere. Argh. But, moving right along, a recent student gifted me a very beautiful scarf that I used here as a sort of landscape behind cherries. It has a subtle stripe pattern that I didn't capture ... another time. Thank you Kathy!
I also wanted to share the shelf full of still life crap - scratch that - stuff I mentioned recently, organized by color. I had to stand on the bed and shoot down to get the whole thing. You'll probably recognize a few things. This isn't my whole collection mind you - my new studio will have space for it all. : )

Carol, This painting is beautiful. I think all of your work is terrific, but this is a real standout. One of your best in the daily painting series.

I see my little "Job Lot' Pitcher on your shelf ;) and recognize so many of these props from your fabulous paintings!! The famous 'Sugar bowl'!
This display makes me realize that there is really no end to collecting props :D
You were virtually present at our wonderful "Girls Just Wanna Paint Challenge" Slash Christmas party at Nancy's tonight. They are all signed up for your class at Kelley's this September and Nancy had just received your book, which is a tour de force.
I'm ready for the next 100 ;)

That's a lot of crap ya got in that cabinet, and the funny thing about all that crap is that you use it to paint fabulous oils!

Wow, Carol, this painting is gorgeous. I love the placement of the cherries, and how the light turns on the scarf - and you even got the 'knots' in the fringe - without over rendering. Thanks for sharing a look at your props - I always feel I have way too many... but I guess that's par for the course!

Love the warm golden tones! And I love the shot of your shelves - great idea to organize by color - great idea to just organize period! My stuff is so cluttered. I don't see a lot of yellow in our objects on the shelves. Don't like yellow?

Please let us know how you are going to organize your new studio. I have a lot of wonderful crappy stuff that I don't know what to do with & someday might want to use. Right now it's just shoved in the closet or packed in boxes.

Carol. I received your book yesterday and am pleased as punch. What a fabulous little compilation of your paintings and done so beautifully and simply. The variety of still life fruit/floral/olives! and plein air pieces is great.

A very happy customer.

Kudos to you for being such a "doer" in life.

Love the golds next to the cherry reds. Beautiful dramatic lighting too.

Are you sure this isn't a thrift sale? I was hunting for your Chocolate Bunny in there. Wondering which object out of this selection I will have the opportunity to paint at your Jan. workshop. So looking forward to it!

Great collection of stuff Carol!..I am starting to get some stuff together slowly, the colour idea is great though!

What i really wanted was some casts...either heads or figures. Apparently they destroyed a lot of these, when figure drawing went out of fashion, here in the UK.

Still, just have to keep looking, best find recently was a peacock feather!...have to try painting it one day!

Ok, I have to confess! I was so happy when I read that you ... the great Carol Marine artist and talk show "celeb" ... still wipe down a painting every once in a while. I know I am an awful person for confessing this but your daily paintings are always so wonderful and perfect and it is nice to know that you are human too! Thanks for giving me the encouragement to go back to my easel and "wipe" off today's efforts!
