"Raw Breakfast" - SOLD

I went back to the Farmer's Market this weekend and got some more of those blue eggs. This time I didn't tell them what I was going to use them for ... they gave me funny looks last time. Also, I went thrift store shopping and found, among other things, this awesome little red plate!

Beautiful, rich colors! Do you still use the same palette of colors? Did you use black this time?

Ah, there is so much to enjoy here. Terrific composition of shapes, your definitive brushwork, and a glowing yoke at the center of a wonderful color story.

Hi Carol,

I enjoy the way you bevel your curved contours with small arced edge contours. It slows the eye down so you can really appreciate the "trip". Blue eggs? Don't they heat the henhouses in Texas? Cheers!

Filbert,
I WANNA KNOW
about those nice little diagonal lines on the flatware and at '5:30' on your red plate's shadow. Lifted off?

What a stunning display of primary colors. That red plate is certainly a "keeper."

It's not easy to have the three primaries in a painting and make it work.....but that's not the case here ;)
Beautiful and dramatic!
