"Garlic Juice" & "Anticipation" - SOLD

I got this little polka-dot vase from my husband's birthmother in Germany - she said she had too many nick-nacks, so I kindly took it off her hands. : )

Below is one of my "feast" themed paintings - a terrible photo - sorry about that. I'm calling it "Anticipation". My main problem was getting enough stuff into the composition. I kept taking things out one by one until it didn't look like a feast anymore ... so I decided it would be just a glimpse of the feast ... a suggestion of one. I do like the piled look and may try something like this again.

I love this! All the objects up on the left corner and the
blue horizontals-fork on the right(hey- who set that table!)
It has a landscape quality. Makes me want to tackle bigger canvases.

I like both of these so much; what a little volcano of a vase! I'm curious about the polka-dots. Is that pattern on yesterday's post's mug; or did the shadows fall that way?

The prismatic wine shadow and tine shadows catch my eye in the larger painting.

Carol - do you prefer the square formats for your paintings and why?

Thanks you guys!

DSM (David)- I should have amended this, but the reflections of the garlic were competing with the polka-dots (yes they were there). Really I should have left out the dots, but I wanted it to be recognizable to my husband's mother in law. Forgive me? : )

Mary- Yes, I do prefer the square ... I'm not sure why. I used to think it was such a difficult shape for composing, but now I feel it's easier than a rectangle. Go figure!!

Hi Carol!
LOVE the feast!! Those bottles and your fork are especially awesome. And the reflections on the bottle in the foreground are SO good - I keep coming back to take another look.
Cheers,
Kim
(ps. Did you see DSM's post about you? Made me laugh : )

Great perspective in the Feast painting Carol. It's an inviting and mysterious(the empty plate) piece.
Love it!

This is my favorite type of setup from you.Complicate, but you nail it every time.I first thought it was a 12x12 or a 20x20 but it's a 6x6. Brilliant!!
