"View From Behind" - SOLD

Below is the hi-key painting with reflections I mentioned yesterday. I was also going for something simple & understated. I used two lights - one was just my overhead florescent for painting by, and the other was the daylight, spotlight I generally use. Together they create some nice light shadows, which I am really enjoying playing with. I don't have any title ideas yet ... any suggestions?
I'm not sure where this painting will go. I'm painting for a few group shows at the moment. It is 20"x28".
I just posted a workshop in San Luis Obispo, CA that will be next Februray, in case anyone is interested (look over to the right).

Lovely..... The apples seem to be looking up at the flowers, but a name doesn't come to me. :) Both paintings and the one from yesterday are great.

I think this iris painting is fantastic. The way you handle the light keys and especially in the shadows really demonstrates your skill and your excellent eye for colour.

Really gorgeous! How about Stir Crazy or Grapes in the Headlights?

When asked what my favorite color is I usually respond "white" because it is never just white but is every color that surrounds it. You did a great job on these high key paintings. Anne Spoon

I like both of these but I think the bowl and grapes is my favorite. Wonderful colors for the grapes as well as the colors in the bowl.

I really love your large paintings too!

I also agree with your bit on what works with one painting may fail with another!

How about a cuppa?

Another beauty. I particularly like that vase that frequently appears in your paintings. Beautiful grays!

First time, Long time Carol..

How about "Iris I'd split before breakfast...said the Apple"

I enjoy your paintings, and think your site is terrific. The Murphy oil soap as a cleaning solution for oils was a terrific tip.

mmmm lovely light from behind on the grapes...very good at giving them their transparency when lit from behind...wonderful greys on the Iris.

Title ideas: "Elevated" or "Sliced." I also like "Washed Out" because of the high key values or "Fresh" - something that connotes airiness.
