"Prickly Invasion" - SOLD

I haven't painted any prickly pear cactus fruit in a while, but one of my recent students painted some and that got me thinking about them again. I still haven't eaten any ... not quite that brave yet.

Great painting. The cactus pear fruit is nice, maybe like a kiwi a little??? We used to love them in the summer riding horseback and gathering cows. Pick them with good leather gloves and eat them when we were hot and thirsty. Nice job on these!

Go for it, they're quite tasty! But wear gloves when you peel them ;0)

LOVE the colors here, Carol! And you should not be afraid... they taste like plums! (Just don't chew - a little mashing with your tongue and down they go!)
