One more word on painting safety and then I'll bow out of it. It appears to depend on the brand of water-mixable oils as to which are toxic and which aren't. The best thing to do is read the MSDS (material safety data sheet) info for the paints - you can usually find this on the manufacturer's website.
My friend Carolyn Finnell is visiting today. Carolyn is a previous student and fabulous artist and was dropping off several paintings to her new gallery in Houston. She drove all the way from Louisiana and I insisted she drive the rest of the way to visit me. : )
Tomorrow there will be a closing reception for my show at the Wally Workman Gallery, from 6 to 8pm.

I don't know how to write ...whaooo!
Can I have cream on mine .. it's edible again Carol. WAHOOOWHAOOO!
I love the colors in this one - that blue and orange looks great together!
I really like the contrast between the darker blues and the oranges. This is a beautiful painting. You really have a knack for making the colors vibrate.

the two slices on the edges add a great tension and movement.
Hi Carol. Hadn't been by for a while and it looks like you have been super busy with some marvelous work. I was painting over at Dena Wenmoh's bunkhouse with the gang a couple of weeks ago, and we spent almost an hour admiring you blog (artwork). Keep up the exceptional work. And..if you get a chance, drop by for a "just for fun" summer break blog, for a smile and a few "wows"
This is a great piece, Carol! I love it.

Great composition. Love how you paint. I like your tiny eggplant story, too (they often taste better small, too, so not sure why she was apologizing!)
