"Reflections in Purple"

Someone asked today if I could show a reference photo for yesterday's (large) painting. I completely forgot to post it. Let me clarify that I painted it completely from life, but I did snap a photo before I started, just for this purpose. Here it is. Click on it to see a larger version.

how can you make such a simple scene even more beautiful in your rendering it with mere strokes? thank you for sharing the source! what lovely work these past few days--and the rich ochre shades in the recent mug works are really sumptuous. awesome.

I agree with Mel, this painting is so much more interesting with your wonderful interpretation. It really is helpful to see the inspiration along with your painting. Thanks so much for sharing like you do Carol, you are a gem, and it shows in your work.

I love the transparency of the cloth. How do you do it so convincingly...

Beautiful the way the purple pops against the orange.

Love this intense color scheme and of course, the slammin' edges.
