"Olive Shot" - SOLD

I have to admit I hate olives. But I LOVE painting them! Color-wise, I tend to be drawn to complimentary colors a lot, but also often colors near each other on the color wheel, like the green of the olives and the turquoise background. I particularly like this combination.

This is a great painting. When you go to Italy, you won't see olive like this anywhere. When you go there, you'll have to bring extra panels. :)

How funny! I hate olives too. But I do like vodka ... with lots of tonic of course! Great painting. Love the colors.

I have noticed recently your canvas seems to have more tooth to it. Are you using the RayMar medium canvas panels now?

Thanks everyone!

DN - actually, I haven't been using a different canvas, I've just been photographing my paintings in a different spot. Unfortunately there's been some glare on them, and that tends to emphasize the texture. I am trying to resolve this. I was hoping no one would notice. : )

I love the olives (as food too) shimmering in the barely there glass. Beautiful squarish shapes. Smashing!

Carol!

I love the color combinations too!

Even though this is a small painting you still snuck in a lot of details like the "x" in the backsides of the olives.

Oh, and green olives go great with pasta dishes, especially cold pasta salads!

I absolutely love the dark teal backgrounds you have been using lately. Very captivating, especially since you are not blocking it entirely in. Looking forward to seeing more.
