"Hiding From Mom" & process photos - SOLD

Today, in addition to this, I did a large painting AND managed to get a photo of it every once in a while, in process! Below is the final picture of the larger painting (still needs a title - will be in my upcoming solo show at the Wally Workman Gallery). See the process photos.

Thank you so much for the process photos! So very helpful. Is the yellow base color oil - wet or dry?

You're amazing. I wonder if we'll all still be around when one of the big-time museums has a 'Carol Marine Retrospective Exhibition'? Do they only do that after you're gone?

Excellent work. And the fact that you do it every day is amazing!

Thanks for the process photos Carol. Though I haven't tried painting in earnest I think there are elements to your process and results which can help me with my quilting. Thanks again.

PS-I just love the "everydayness" of your subject matter:)

hi carol - i LOVED watching the whole process!! - it would be so great if you could do more of that although i can't imagine how hard it is...next time maybe your hubby could take the pix for you as you paint ..as for the title?...there's something about those standoffish cherries....

I love the palette in "Hiding From Mom" and the shadows are awesome. And those shadow colors. Thanks so much for the process photos of the larger painting. You are such a doll to share this with all of us. And anyone who has not taken Carol's class, you should sign up now. I am looking forward to taking it again next year. I learned so much!

Love the series of cups -- and looking at some of the bidding, I am not alone! ;-)

And Thank You for the process photos, it helps us novice painters to get into your head and see through your eyes.

The process photos are eye opening, thanks! It's interesting to see how you work all around the piece at the same time throughout the process.

Thanks so much for showing the process - so helpful and really shows your incredible skill. I'll be at your workshop this week and am so looking forward to learning from you. Glad the move is behind you and know you must be worn out - we'll try to be a good, easy class!

Thank you for sharing this with everyone, I loved to see how you work through this and I love the way you execute your brushwork and the loose way this very well thought out subject feels.

Thank you all so much for your comments!!!

Leo, the base coat is put on right before I paint, with oil paint and lots of mineral spirits, so it's wet when I start painting.
