"Summer Barn" - SOLD

This second barn painting is from the same location - different barn. My favorite part is the moment where the forward, more orangey building meets the back, more saturated red barn.

Ooo, this is nice..... although, I know you like the forward part, I'm not sure what it is...is the sun so bright there that it glows that color? It almost looks separate... like a fence or something....maybe the barn is being repainted....just my opinion....

Love this loose, complementary piece.

This one is awesome! I like it even better than the last one, that is saying a lot. Such interesting forms and so much depth in it. There's even a sense that the back building got painted more recently than the front building from that hue shift, which is all right -- it accentuates the depth.

Gorgeous perspective. I envy your doing buildings that easily.

I like them both - I looooove your chunky brushstrokes and your clear colors! And... do you think doing all those still lifes made the DRAWING easier for you? Because the perspective, etc. seems effortless.

Wow! Just lovely, Carol. It keeps the eye exploring. I love the little closed window behind the front tree and the sunlit horizontal slats on the left side of the barn. And your brushwork is beautiful! I can always count on a nice lift from your paintings...thank you!

This is beautiful! I love the bits of blue in the grass and on the near side of the barn, and the individual color brush strokes in the orange-y part of the barn. The composition is wonderful, I can just see you "throwing that barn down" a few times until you got what you wanted.

This looks like pure fun to paint. How can you go back to painting more vegetables after this? Love your looseness and the colors! Very inspirational! Thanks

You created a huge space on this little canvas. And I love the glowing light in the foreground!

Look OUT.
Here comes Carol the landscape painter girl. This is a beauty and the few blue green strokes on the bottom right, are "GUTSY"!
:D

I love that part, too.

It's wonderfully illustrative (so to speak) of you to post your learning pieces; thank you.

i like the way the light is captured in the first building. I almost feel the warmth on my face just looking at it.

BTW, Colin Page is writing about challenges of painting light on red buildings in his journal. Very informative.
