"Only Oranges Left"

We've been in the same house for 7 years now so we forgot how hard it is to move. How did we accumulate all this crap?! I didn't have the energy to post a painting last night, and I completely forgot to take a picture of the house while it was still light outside, so below is a photo from when we first saw it a few months ago. My future studio will go just to the left of this view. Isn't it funny how when you're in the middle of a move, the places you're moving from AND to look like total disaster areas?! Or is that just me?

It's lovely! I'll miss having you here in Austin, though. Love the painting, too.

I have so enjoyed receiving your daily paintings by email - a daily treat to look forward to. I can't imagine how you've managed to do anything but move! Your new house is so pretty and look at all those trees!

Oh Honey, what a sweet house. One thing about cyberspace is that, for me, you're still 'here'!
So happy for you.
Kickin' painting, of course.

Hi Carol, I'm so impressed that you keep posting and keep us in touch with what's going on in this hectic stressfilled space you are in! I'm greatful too! I have moved nearly every 18 months for the last 8 years for various reasons. Take it slow...take notes...keep you head down and keep pushing... The disasters clear as if by magic (but you know you did all the work!)
Your house is so beautiful. I long for my own house!

What a cute house! Can't wait to see more pictures and your new studio when it is ready. Good luck with moving.

No disaster at all - it just oozes "family" and the grounds are clear on purpose; to leave room for imagining the footprint of that new studio. Congratulations!

The house looks great - as does this painting. Very clean and fresh looking - I had to pop on over to "your place" to leave a comment.

Good look with all the unpacking!

I know the feeling - when I bought my house I loved it - my image of it was perfect. When I took my walk through before the closing, I cried. It looked like a disaster! This house looks great!I can't wait to watch the progress of the studio.
Thanks for your comment and visit to my blog last week. Have fun settling in!

That accumulation of "crap" I think is something we all deal with. I stood in my garage one night and looked at all of the "crap" in it and realized I spent hard earned money on everything I was looking at and it almost made me sick. I could have retired 20 years ago.
By the way, your work is incredible!

I always enjoy how you make something so "simple" like a glass jar and two oranges, look so good. Less is more!

Every time I move I swear I'm going to keep my life simple, and I always end up with too much stuff at the next move. I am reminded of George Carlin's routine about "stuff"... Don't think about it too much, it's a downer. Just make an effort to pare down the total every so often.

I look at your blog almost daily--your beautiful work is an inspiration to me as I'm trying to loosen up a bit. Best of luck to you with your new house and studio. I'm in the process of building my own studio so I know how exciting and overwhelming the process can be.
