"Looking Out" - SOLD

I opened my new box of vegetables from the farm and - lo and behold - more peppers! It's a good thing I like to paint them. This time I got all sorts of colors. Everything except green actually.

By the way, I am honored to say I was included this month in an article, in Southwest Art magazine, about artists who paint (or sculpt) fruits & veggies. Even though they got a few facts wrong in my little blurb, the painting of (yes) peppers turned out really nice, and ... well I am just blown away to have been included. : )

Congratulations on being included in the SW Art magazine! Your commitment to daily paintings and focus on still life are being justly rewarded!

I'm so glad you're feeling better - you must have been really laid low to have suspended painting! This is yet another wonderful pepper painting.... you do so many yet always make each of them different! Congratulations on Southwest! You deserve it!

Congratulation! I have been following your blog for a while now and you certainly deserve the recognition. Love the peppers.

Congrats! I saw the article when flipping thru my magazine but haven't sat down to read it properly. You deserve the recognition!

so what facts did they get wrong? Did you acutally grow up in a condo in L.A. and not in a geodesic dome in Montana? :0)

Thanks ya'll!

The real facts (wrong in the article) are that I was born in Montana, grew up in a dome house in Harper, TX and live in an outskirt of Austin, TX. I think it's pretty funny actually - I mean, like it really matters. Someone is going to read that I live in Harper and think "Oh I'm not going to buy a painting from that Harper girl! It would be different if she lived in Austin." : )

I saw the article too, congrats! It was very cool seeing an article in there about someone whose blog I follow.

Congratulations! on your article in Southwest. I took your first class in Austin last year. You have inspired me so much in my painting and blogging. Thank you.

LOL
Ruined the whole article for me when I found out you live in Austin, NOT Harper. Just kidding.
I'm loving how you're using grays to enhance the color saturation.
