"Blue Bottle" --- SOLD
I have a fascination with colored bottles, especially blue and green ones. And old ones. This one is made with really thick blue/green glass, though I suppose you can't really tell here. The flower is from my Rose of Sharon tree out back.
Julie wrote to me today and responded about yesterday's post regarding Harley Brown's most recent book, "Inspiration for Every Artist." She called it a "collection of thoughts, observations, guided teaching sequences and recommendations (for art processes, setting up a studio, planning work, choosing a workshop...)." She found it "useful & inspiring." Thank you, Julie, for your review!

I really love this painting! The complementary color palette is expressed so subtly. The shadow of the flower and bottle are interesting, along with the hightlights on the bottle itself! The painting just captures a sense of joy and happiness in it!
This is so satisfying! Love it.
carol, you are wonderful again, but this time I think there could have been little more bluegreen in the shadw of transperent bottle
I like this more than some of your more minimalist canvases... regardless of the shadow projection color... seems interestint to me. American Artist uses little quotes from Harley Brown throughout their issues. I haven't seen the book, but I like the quotes.
I am with you about blue bottles. Glad to know that I don't have to go to therapy now. Always enjoy your paintings but especially like the colors in the shadows.
