"The Volunteer" --- SOLD

I'm a couple of paintings ahead with the small ones, so I actually did this a few days ago. It was the end of my plum run - tomorrow, tomatoes. Today I painted the larger one below (another poor photo, taken inside). The striped fabric I made. I am really stoked about the stripes because I have been wanting to put them in these larger still lives for a while. The flowers are from my garden. I planted cosmos this spring specifically for painting. I was so excited when the pink ones came out! The are really stunning against all the green in my garden. Hmmm...

Thanks for sharing your larger still lifes along with the daily paintings. I really love the painting of the sketch book with the colored pencils, especially how the yellow-orange pops up throughout the composition also along with the way the blue and teal colors are repeated.

Love love the large still life!! You've got the pattern in the stripes repeating itself through-out the painting in the pencils and even the spirals on the notebook. One of my favorites of your large paintings!

Carol, The stripes are terrific! In fact the colors of the tomatos really punch up the blue.
The composition is unique. you don't see many compositions of the artist's tools. Combined with the organic veggies and flowers..you have a winner!!!
