"Texas Peaches" --- SOLD

I was at the grocery store yesterday picking through peaches, mostly green and hard. A fellow strolled by, picked one up and said "these are all hard." I said "yep," and kept picking through them. How could I explain that the hard ones are better for painting? I suppose I could have. But I told a flower lady once that I painted flowers and she said "so do I!" She brought me over to a display of painted flowers - she made the white ones blue ... or red ... or whatever color requested. I've taken to keeping my profession to myself. : )

that's funny I think the same about avocados!
Did your lights ripen the peaches? From what i understand about the speed of your painting I doubt they would have the time!
They even look hard in the painting.
Ripe or not, great peaches! brilliant reflections (no pun intended...)

carol, I really like your compostition(as always, because you have a real "gift" in the composition area)AND..the gray with the peach colors works terrific. I think I ned to think more about using gray.

Funny, isn't it, how when we reveal our identity as artists, it tends to bring out sides of people best left behind. Your peaches are your usual fine stuff, but I especially like their reflections on the surface.
