"Good Morning" --- SOLD

I did this one yesterday but completely forgot to photograph it - duh. Then I did a larger one that is similar but ... has more stuff in it. : ) I really like it. It was a good day. Today I took a little break and ran some errands.

This evening I found out that the Jury's top 50 has been awarded for the Salon International show, and one of my paintings is included! There were so many incredible paintings there - I can't even begin to express how honored I am to be included in the show, much less receive this additional honor!!! Here's the painting:

Congratulations!

Wow. That is really good. Wish I could paint like that. I quilt but not with half the talent you paint.

Carol- your work stands alone and the honor is so well deserved. I love your color palettes in this piece and the new Good Morning work.
It's so interesting how you create round shapes with such linear strokes.
I've bookmarked you and eagerly look at your site every day, even if there's no new post, it's like going to a favorite museum where I get to peruse the things that are permanent and still so inspiring.
Congratulations!
PS- I've mentioned you on my blog today too....I'm a great admirer.

What can I say but "of course!!" You're one of my very favorite painters and it's great to see you get more recognition. You deserve it. "Cheese and Grapes" is one of my favorite large works. "Good Morning" has such a strong value composition. Look how it demands attention on the Dailey Painters Gallery page. I love the highlights too.

I love the way you paint carnations. I love your polka dots. I love these colors. I love your reflections.

I checked out the paintings at the Salon Show and agree with the judges. You are a winner for sure, in more ways than one.

Congrats Carol! I love the colors in the Salon painting. You 'nailed' it with your subject, too! Wow, beautiful!

That is marvelous! You deserve the recognition. Congratulations.
See, good things happen to those who get their taxes done...and work their "you know what's" off.

Hi Carol, That's wonderful news, I love the painting. A question for you, do you always paint your background in last? Thanks, Barb

Carol Marine said...

Thank you all so so so much for the support!!! I REALLY appreciate it.

Barb, to answer your question, no I don't always paint in the background last. But often I do. Mostly so I can get some interesting edges around my focus. Many times I'll put in little bits of the background just to check against the value and color.

These are both beautiful but the bottom one is just breathtaking. I mistook it for one of your 12x 12's.
You are unique in the way you paint. I love your work.
