"Grape Light" --- SOLD

This is a magical bunch of grapes - I've used it in 3 paintings now within the last few days, believe it or not! To get this effect I shadowed part of it with a larger object (a cup in this case), that you can't see. I got the idea from a larger painting I just did where the cup IS in the painting (along with other things). I liked it so much I did this small one of just the grapes.

I am now being represented by a new gallery: Twinhouse Gallery in Atlanta GA. If you're in the area, it's a great gallery with a lot of fantastic artists, including Neil and Karen Hollingsworth and Karin Jurick. Check it out!

I've just had a WOW moment - and that was before I saw that I also need to offer my congratulations to you for getting your new gallery representation!

The impact of the lighting on the grapes is simply stunning! I should imagine that a larger version could only be better still? ;)

I like this painting. Shadow and light make things interesting, sometimes we don't know what objects are casting the shadows and it doesn't matter. Makes me want to go paint some grapes. Barb

This painting breathes. That's exciting. It reminds me of standing on top of Tray Mountain and looking out over the valleys--there's a feeling of breath.

Congrats... and I'm proud of myself that I recognize the names of the lofty company you're keeping. Or maybe the lofty company that Jurick and Hollingsworths are keeping! When are you coming to teach in Dallas? Count me IN!

Wonderful work as always Carol and congrats also on your new gallery representation. Now that you've given us a taste of what you're working on in a larger format, we're most eager to see those as well!

Congrats on the new gallery!
That's in my neck of the woods, so now I actually go down to Atlanta to see your work in the flesh. :) Beautiful sense of light to the grapes!
