"Salt on Blue" --- SOLD

I haven't felt well the last couple of days, and unfortunately haven't been able to paint at all until today. I glanced at this salt shaker down in the kitchen as I passed by on my way up the studio and couldn't resist the wavy salt (actually almost empty). It didn't turn out just like I had hoped, so I'll probably give it another try soon. It always takes me a little while after a break (even 2 days) to get back into the groove. Sometimes I even feel like I've forgotten how to paint. Sound familiar - anyone, anyone???

Oh, yeah, know that feeling too. This came out beautifully though. I love this soft turquoise background, with just that touch of orange underpainting. Lovely.

I just started back painting after almost a year off. It is difficult to get back in the groove of things. Feel better!

I love your work by the way:)

Yes indeed--in fact, I posted those exact same words earlier yesterday! It seems like a break disrupts the process even more when it's due to illness. Get well soon!

Wow ...you make a simple object into a work of art. I love looking at your paintings, does genius rub off I wonder?
Hope you feel better soon.

You're so right about getting back into the swing of things; it seems to take a bit to get back into the mind set and the process.

I do like this one! Love how you've captured the idea of the glass refracting and reflecting....

I like how you walk by your salt shaker and think this would make a great painting, lol. I seem to spend so much time wondering around the house with objects for my still lifes. My husband just shakes his head as I go by.

I'm always at the top of my game when it comes to painting!!! And if you believe that, I have some swamp land in Death Valley that I'd like to sell to you. Your work looks great. You seem to always be on top of your game with colors!

I absolutely agree about 'forgetting' how to paint after a little break! But, brush in hand, it all comes rushing back, and your Salt On Blue is a perfect example. Glad you took some time to recover, though.
