I really enjoyed painting the reflections so I thought I'd do it again. That and the goose. And of course, an apple. Ok, actually I did this yesterday right after I did the first one, and did a big one today. I've decided to finally post some larger ones here that I've been working on, but not the most recent. The one below I did a couple of months ago. I recently got some fancy new lights and have just this evening photographed a whole bunch of paintings, including this one, which will go to the gallery soon (15"x15").

This is a great lesson in design, Carol. The eye travels into and circles around the painting without going off the page. Love the color combinations as well--and the little bits of pink on the green bowl, vase and cloth create a wonderful harmony of color. You are teaching even when you think you are just painting--very inspirational. The square format really works as well. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I do like this one. I've always rather liked top down comps for paintings involving flowers and small objects - so much more interesting.
I'm now very much looking forward to seeing the other larger paintings - although 6x8" is hardly large! Should that relate to the painting at the top?

Carol, great use of split-complimentary color scheme. Just enough violet to warm things up. I like how you are able to keep the vitality of the smaller paintings. Do you still work alla prima on the larger paintings? I can't wait to see the others.
Thanks, Bart! Yes, I do these larger ones all in one day. I do this for two reasons: I hate the way the paint can get a weird texture over paint that's dried, and I find I can keep the same fresh idea if I complete it the same day. If I come back to it later, I've lost the inspiration I started with.

Oh, this is one of my favorites! I love the purple flowers and the other colors you used and it's a nice compsoition.
