For this version of the zinnia flower (see previous post), I painted the darkest bits of the flower first, then the next lighter, then the lightest. I like this one better, but I think it might be a coincidence. Maybe not ... it'll just take more experimenting.

I like the first one better for some reason, though I love the bottle on this one. There is just no accounting for taste.
For some reason I didn't get these last two posts in my email like I normally do.
I have painted the last two days, even though I really don't have time. I'm proud!
I like this one better. I think there's more value forms and I like the composition/placement of the bottle better. I also love how the orange bits of underpainting actually reflect a bit of the flower!
