Rock Values

I don't remember where I took the photo reference for this one, though I'm pretty sure it was somewhere in California. The sun had gone down, so everything was in shadow. I love the challenge of trying to convey the rocks under the water. It's hard. Try it.

Great job on these underwater rocks! That is a VERY difficult subject to paint. While up in Maine last summer, I took several photos with this subject because it was SO beautiful up there. Then I tried to paint them, NOT so easy! Here is a link to that painting if you would like to see it and give me a critique? The photo is slightly darker than the actual painting. Loved your Podcast with Savvy Painter! I just heard it today.
