"Table For One" - SOLD

This is from the same overcast day in Freiburg, Germany ... down the street from the market. Freiburg is a really cool city. There were beautiful things everywhere. I do prefer direct sunlight, but some things work without it. Like this. I'm really enjoying painting new things!

  2. A really nice one Carol. I'm always happier with sunshine shadows too, but this one works without.

  6. oh Carol...I feel a bidding war coming on! Sensual yet melancholy yet empowering...what I'm enjoying most in your latest work is the mood you're conveying. You're composing the scenes masterfully and have invited us in to play the lead. Have you thought of painting a larger version? More please!

  8. I *love* this one! I can really feel the solidness of the building and the folds of the tablecloth. I've been away for a couple of weeks and I come back to all of this exciting new stuff you're doing...it's inspiring.

  11. hey carol,
i really like the new series of "new things"... and this one has taken the series a notch up... something about this painting catches the eye and keeps it running round and round through the painting... and there is a lot of warmth and light in here... looking forward to more... !

  14. I keep coming back to look at this one - it seems to call up the "feeling" of old movies - Humphrey Bogart/Ingrid Bergman type. Lots of feeling in a simple thing.
