One thing I did during my last break was to peruse Pinterest in the evenings. Over the past few years I've collected ("pinned") quite a few paintings by other people that inspire me. And with Pinterest, whenever you click on something to enlarge it, if you scroll down, you'll see lots of other "similar" things, which is great for finding new work and ideas. Doing this reminded me of why I fell in love with painting in the first place. I think sometimes when I'm painting every day I get lazy and I start "rendering" things. Seeing work on Pinterest reminded me that art is an INTERPRETATION of what you see. Or it can be. So I've been trying to be more mindful of that.
