"Pine Cones 2" --- SOLD

I couldn't resist trying the pine cones again. I collected a few and wanted to give the others a chance. I can't decide if I like this blue background better, or the more teal from yesterday.

An artist friend of mine told me today that sometimes painting goes really well for her, and other times she feels like she's painting with her feet! I just couldn't NOT share that. Lorrie took my Santa Fe class and has been painting her "patootie" off since she got home, and it shows. Check her out.

What's so striking about these last few paintings is that the Marine touch is very strong despite the toned down hues! I love these neutrals as much as the colorful ones.

Great work here Carol. The sharp edges of the pine cone really become dynamic when they meet your brush. Very different from the more rounded subject matters we're used to seeing!

I love browns and light blues together, they remind me of a dress in a dream sequence in the movie "An american in paris" It looked very fresh in that movie in 1940whatever, and always looks fresh to me. an underused color combo if you ask me. carol, you are amazing! :)

I really like the little brushy brush marks on this one.
